HOW TO FIND YOUR PERFECT FITTING DESIGNER JEANS
The surge of designer denim over the past decade has transformed jeans – once considered the most universal piece of utilitarian clothing, stemming from their blue-collar roots – into high-end designer fashion. Today, premium denim fabrication and design is an art form, and the connoisseurs who wear these valuable, coveted designer jeans are collectors on a quest for the perfect pair of jeans.
HOW DID WE GET HERE
In 1873, Levi Strauss & Co. began using the pocket stitch design. The two-horse brand design was first used in 1886. The red tab attached to the left rear pocket was created in 1936 as a means of identifying Levis jeans at a distance.
In the 1950's, wearing blue jeans became one of the pop styles of anti-fashion. And thus, unavoidably, jeans promptly became ''just as much a uniform as the dark suit.''
The "designer" part of it began in the 1980's. Designer jeans became a high fashion item when famous designers made their own styles with their own labels.
LET’S GET TO IT
Finding your perfect fitting designer jeans or top brand jeans is not easy. It is like finding a needle in a haystack. So many jeans that you don't know which to choose from and whether they will fit? Whether you're buying bargain jeans or shelling out $300 on premium designer denim, here's how to make sure you're buying the best style and cut for your body type.
THE STEPS
1. Look around and see what other women are wearing.
2. Observe the style that you like, for example do you like the stretch jeans fit, embroidery, rise, leg style, hem style, etc.
3. Make a note of this information and begin searching online for jeans that have what you want to learn the brand name that has the style traights you like. This may take a while but remember the more research you do now the less time you will waste getting frustrated while shopping.
4. Print out the pictures of the jeans that you like and visit the brands website to see what other styles are available that might interest you. There are a few companies out there like zafu.com and myshape.com that that help recommend a style for your body and choices. Well worth a visit.
5. Now let’s shop! Visit your favorite stores with the pictures you printed and ask the sales rep for that style in your size. Be prepared to spend at least an hour trying on pair after pair as what you think you want and your body shape may not work together, even with all of your research. The best part is, most sales people will be able to suggest other brands based on the look you have decided you want to wear!
The great reward to all of this research is that you will feel and look like a new person with the right fit and style of jeans!
TIPS
Your friends should go with you shopping so that they can give their opinion on the style you chose.
WARNINGS
Designer jeans are expensive. That's kind of the point. If you've never spent a lot of money on clothes, it can be hard the first time. Do a realistic assessment of your finances. If it's guilt or fear and not money limitations that are stopping you from buying the jeans, put that stuff aside and do it. You're here reading this page for a reason.
